As we wrap up this week celebrating National Volunteer Week, we’d like to share StuartCo Employee’s volunteer activity.
Wednesday we held our annual sandwich making event to support the mission of 363Days and Simpson Housing Services. Here’s a little about each organization.
363 Ministries is a grass roots organization built on anonymous donations of time, talent and treasures. All donations are given and used with the purpose of feeding those less fortunate. Our starting goal was to help feed 150 homeless people in Minneapolis as many times a year as possible, with the ultimate goal of doing it everyday of the year. Today, we are helping to feed about 4,500 people per week through various shelters and food shelves!
Simpson Housing Service’s mission is to house, support and advocate for people experiencing homelessness. We know that with close, individual advocacy and support, men, women and families experiencing homelessness achieve housing stability. We are committed to Housing First: house people quickly, then provide services as needed.
Around 12 StuartCo employees participated this year with a goal of 500 sandwiches. We ended the afternoon with about 700 sandwiches to be donated! And just as we did last year, we had a great time assembling sandwiches for a great cause.
Thank you to all those that participated!
