Louie Loves is a blog series that has Louie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with impeccable taste (and a big diva attitude) visiting our StuartCo communities and reporting back with his take on the property and the surrounding neighborhood.
After a full summer visiting different communities, I took a few weeks off to relax, recharge, and eat lots of (doggie) ice cream.
But as soon as the leaves started changing, I knew I wanted to get outside and feel the crisp fall air on my face.
There are few places more beautiful in the fall (or winter, spring, summer…) than Riverview at Upper Landing.
Situated right alongside the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul, this community not only features incredible views, but also easy access to river walking and biking trails that take you right downtown. I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous colors the day I visited.
Riverview at Upper Landing is super close to downtown, which means it’s a convenient commute for humans—a five minute drive or 15 minute walk and you’re at work!
Miles of nature trails only a few minutes from a vibrant downtown—what could be better?
CAKE.
I felt like the luckiest dog to be at Riverview at Upper Landing the day they were celebrating their 10th birthday (that’s 70 in dog years!). Their experience and longstanding passion for the community shines through in every single staff member—the positive energy in the building was enough to keep my tail wagging for days!
Even though the cake was for human residents, Diane at the front desk always has dog treats for her canine visitors, so I got to celebrate too.
After my fill of treats, I was ready to lend my critical eye to the apartment homes.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the gourmet kitchen—I was drooling thinking of all the delicious meals my human could cook for us! The living room and bedrooms were so spacious, and every home comes with a full-size washer and dryer, so my human would never have to leave me to wash all of my doggie sweaters!
The nice thing about Riverview at Upper Landing is that your home extends beyond your walls—there’s a wide variety of community amenities, including an underground garage, fitness center, beautifully landscaped courtyards, and even an outdoor fireplace where you can enjoy the fall colors and riverfront views.
Dog residents at Riverview at Upper Landing also get to enjoy a huge dog park that is only steps from the front door—I wore myself out running laps and making friends!
After a busy day, it was time for “happy hour.” Good thing there’s a dog-friendly place only a few miles away! Take your human to check out Bad Weather Brewing in the neighborhood—they have great beer, games, a variety of food trucks, and even yoga classes! (My favorite pose is downward dog, of course.)
There is SO MUCH my human and I can experience together all around Riverview at Upper Landing, it’s hard to know where to start! (On this trip, I BEGGED her to take me to Mojo Monkey for doggie treats and maybe a bite of her delicious doughnut.)
One thing is for sure—you’ll never lack for things to do, and you won’t regret becoming one of the lucky residents of Riverview at Upper Landing.
I have one more adventure in me before I go into hibernation until spring… stay tuned!
