Believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner—the magical time of year meant for giving thanks and celebrating friends and family. ‘Tis the season for holiday parties, and for making your party one that will still be talked about in 2017! Take a look at our top five tips for hosting a great gathering in your apartment or townhome.
#5: Utilize community space
Most StuartCo properties have a community or party room onsite for hosting parties and celebrations. Reserve the space early to secure a larger room where all of your family and friends can comfortably gather together.
#4: Host a progressive dinner party
Instead of confining the party to one apartment, get a few close neighbors together to host a progressive dinner party! Head to one apartment for the appetizer, another for the main course, another for dessert… not only does it divide the responsibility for the meal, it makes for a fun and exciting evening of touring different homes!
#3: Don’t overestimate your space
Don’t overestimate the space you have in your stove or your fridge. If you don’t have room to cook something the day of the party, cook it ahead of time, or ask guests bring it. And if you have one, utilize your balcony or patio as a second fridge. (the cold IS good for something!)
#2: Give your guests clear parking directions
Parking can be tricky, and you’ll want to make sure to provide your guests with clear parking directions so they don’t get lost or inadvertently park in a space not designated for guests. If you’re serving alcohol, consider suggesting Uber or Lyft—you can invite your friends to download either app and you’ll all get referral discounts!
#1: If it gets late, take the party elsewhere
‘Tis the season for celebrating and for being courteous neighbors. If the party is still going strong long after it gets dark, consider moving to a place that can match your noise level—a neighborhood bar or restaurant, for example. We’ve got some great local recommendations in our new Tourist series, and will be adding to it through the end of the year! Make sure to also ask your property’s staff for their suggestions on a great place to continue your celebration.
