Mother’s Day Inspiration

Mother’s Day is meant to celebrate the women in our lives who play a mothering role—whether that’s a mom, stepmom, grandma, mother-in-law, or pet mom.

We turned to our StuartCo family to share some of their traditions and favorite brunch spots to celebrate the day. If you don’t have yet have a plan for Mother’s Day, look no further than right here for inspiration!

Maryann

“Typically on Mother’s Day, there’s a cooking ban in place, since meal prep isn’t on my Top 10 List of favorite things to do. Two things that do make my Top 10 List are the fish tacos at Tin Fish, and walking around Lake Calhoun on a gorgeous day. As a result, this has become a Mother’s Day tradition I very much look forward to—it’s not fancy fare, but it’s the perfect tradition. Two great Minneapolis spots to spend an afternoon with the people I love most in the world.”

– Maryann Stern, Property Manager, Genesee Apartments and Townhomes

Edited Vivo

“Right across the street from Remington Cove [in Apple Valley] is Vivo Kitchen—they have a terrific brunch, and a beautiful view. It’s the perfect place to bring the mother figure in your life for some bread pudding French toast, or spicy breakfast risotto!”

– Robin Hall, Leasing Consultant, Remington Cove Apartments

Dena

“My family and I love the Machine Shed Mother’s Day Brunch in Lake Elmo (on the border of Woodbury). They have an amazing spread from a combination of all your breakfast favorites as well as lunch items. Once you think you’ve made it through the line and have seen everything, you turn around and there’s more! (Reservations are definitely recommended.)”

– Dena Raymond, Assistant Manager, Carver Lake Townhomes

HappyGnome

The Happy Gnome in St. Paul has a build your own Bloody Mar bar, and a delicious brunch—the Breakfast Sammie is delicious. Mom is sure to love!”

– Laura Prybilla, Leasing Consultant, Riverview at Upper Landing

Jensens

“My husband lets me sleep in, gives me breakfast in bed, and then we take his mother out to Jensen’s in Eagan for our second meal of the day!”

– Stacy Miller, Property Manager, Woodridge Apartments

Janet

“No matter how old my children get, I still adore the thoughtful handmade gifts and breakfast in bed! We are fortunate to have grandmothers to celebrate with us as well, so our day is full and let’s face it—even though the day with family and the kids is fun, I’m still on duty as “Mom.” We started a new tradition a few years ago—dads wind down the day, and my sister and I go out for a light dinner and drink somewhere that isn’t selected based on whether it’s kid friendly. It’s a perfect balance of special time with the kids & family, and a nice quiet break.”

– Janet Rosseth, Director of Marketing, StuartCo
